Steve James Board Member (Joined 2022) Steve is an experienced company Director and Chairperson with both listed and unlisted companies. He brings over 30 years of business knowledge working across all facets of the financial services industry including senior roles with organisations such as National Australia Bank, the Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Deutsche Bank Australia. Later in his executive career Steve focused on the technology sector and was a key player in developing the first on-line broking product to the Australian intermediary market, which was ultimately sold to the broking division of the Commonwealth Bank. Steve currently sits on a number of boards including as Chair of ASX listed Identitii (ID8), and Chair of Spring Capital a Sydney based VC firm, along with NED roles with Social E-commerce platform provider Buyers Circle and energy explorer Advent Energy; and is a partner in an Australian legal practice Best Interests Law. Steve holds a master’s degree in Financial Services Law, from Macquarie University, is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, a Master Stockbroker Qualification from the ASX, a Diploma of Financial Markets, a Certificate in Superannuation Management and is a Justice of the Peace. He provides boards with Independent leadership and an acute knowledge of compliance, and marketing and distribution strategy expertise.
