Who We Are: We are a national, volunteer organisation that prevents the distress of separation spiraling into trauma, or at times tragedy.
We provide guidance, support and connection to enable the distressed parent to take a better path through the pain of separation.
We have already provided a safety net to thousands of displaced, separated parents.
Our talented, trained field leaders facilitate peer group experience, share knowledge and offer hope and help where it counts.
What We Do: In a nutshell - we provide the space, resources and guidance to the separated parent so that they are empowered to find their own successful, family transition. Our core development programs, peer support groups and deeply experienced volunteers in the field can intervene when it matters most.
Why We Do What We Do: For many displaced, separated parents, dealing with the painful transition can be deeply traumatic. Restoring their ability to deal with financial, legal, relational and social change is often beyond the scope of the traditional sources of help.
Families break-up every day at enormous cost to the individuals, children, the broader family and community. For some individuals, rather than the start of new, purposeful phase of family relations, the breakdown can dangerously spiral into damaging dynamics and sometimes result in violence, suicide and family tragedy. The cost to the family, particularly the children involved, can be devastating.
The lifetime cost to the community? Immeasurable.
